Ladybug's new rug

I made this rug for Ladybug because the old one just smelled plain awful - even vacuuming it with Pet Fresh was no help. I crocheted it with 3 strands of nylon rug yarn using a P hook. It drove me crazy because the strands were all twisted and the only way to get them untwisted was to cut them. I had so many ends to weave in. I had thought that I was going to crochet a rug for Tex but I changed my mind. I'll just have to get him a real rug for his bed.

My yarn stash

I was trying to straighten up my craft room today and I thought I'd never, ever say this but I think I have too much yarn. I will not buy anymore until some of this is used. Maybe.

Candy jars

I made candy jars for the people at work and for the neighbors. The ones that are complete are for work - I still have to fill the neighbors jars and get them ready. This little project can sure get expensive - I bought about 10 bags of different Hershey's kisses and as you can see I need to buy about 10 more. Thank goodness they're on sale - that helps a little.

Dishcloths

Here's a picture of a couple of dishcloths I made for my sister Julie. She likes using them so I decided to make her a couple more. The pattern for these are the first 5 rounds of the round ripple. The last round is just sc. I crocheted these with Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn and an "I" hook.

Christmas swaps

I belong to a crochet group and we have had a couple of Christmas swaps. The stocking I received from Terry and the snowflakes came from Yvette, Fran and Jane. Mary Lou even sent me one in my birthday card.

Round ripple finally finished!

Well I finally finished my round ripple afghan last night. It is 48" from point to point. The last couple of rounds were a bear. It was crocheted with Red Heart Super Saver in ecru, baby pink and light raspberry and I used an "I" hook.

Steering wheel cover

Finished this project today. It's a simple (dc, sc) pattern made with Red Heart Super Saver in light raspberry with an I hook. I also have a strip of non-slip shelf liner glued to the underside of the piece to prevent it from slipping. Very cushy.  :)

Scarf from Mary Lou

I belong to a crochet group on Ebay and we just had a scarf swap. This scarf is what Mary Lou sent me. It's very soft - I love it.

Pink poncho

Here is a picture of me sportin' my new pink poncho I finished last night. It's crocheted with Red Heart Jeweltones and a J hook. The pattern is a simple - dc, ch 1, dc -. I think I need to soften this one up by throwing it in the dryer for a few minutes. Turns out, I love wearing these poncho's - keeps me warm at work.

Tiny baby doll carrier

Here's a couple of pictures of a tiny baby doll carrier I made last night. It's made out of a Pringle's single serve plastic container and I used Red Heart Jeweltones in pink. Punching the holes with a hole punch was the hardest part.

Watchband and purple purse

Morning everyone - here is a picture of my latest projects. The purple purse is crocheted with Red Heart Jeweltones along with 1 strand of Bernat Boa for the top front. I think I will line this one with some purple panne I bought from Joann's remnant bin.

The watchband is also crocheted with Red Heart Jeweltones in turquoise. It only took about 30 minutes to make - very quick and easy. I bought some large snaps at Joann's so I will sew them on today.

Black poncho

I finally finished my black poncho a couple of days ago. This was an easy project to do but it certainly wasn't fast (which it should of been). The pattern is simply 2 rectangles made with *dc, ch 1, dc*. With it being so dark it was hard for me to see at night so quite a few times I woke up with a headache the next morning (I guess from overworking my eyes) - and also with me working part-time now my crochet time has been seriously compromised. I don't like that - but what can you do?

Pink camo scarf

Here's a picture of my pink camo scarf. It was crocheted with Red Heart Super Saver. I don't know if I like this color combination. I think I'm going to start sticking with solid colors when crocheting wearables.

Scarf and cell phone holder

Here's my latest projects - a scarf and a cell phone holder. The scarf was crocheted with Caron Glimmer yarn and the cell phone holder was crocheted with Bernat Black Lites yarn. The pattern for the scarf is from the Stitch 'n Bitch Happy Hooker book - the cell phone pattern is my own.

I've already started another scarf with Red Heart super saver pink camo so I'll probably be posting that picture soon.

I made Ladybug a new collar - her old one was really a horrible mess. Just what does this dog get into when she's outside?

Pillows and the beginning of an afghan

Here's some pictures of a couple of projects. The 2 pillows are simple granny squares crocheted with 1 strand fun fur and 1 strand RHSS. The pink one is for me (of course) and the variegated one is for Erica.

The round ripple I am crocheting for my car. I've always had an afghan in my car - I don't exactly know why.

**here's an updated photo of my round ripple - not very much progress - I've lost a lot of crocheting time when I started working.**

New car

Hey everyone - look what I bought Friday afternoon after work. A 2005 PT Cruiser. Cool looking - it's my gangster car. I bought it from Melvin Motors and get this - it used to belong to a "little old lady from Florida". Ha-ha. Actually, it did and it's kind of sad. The lady had bought it brand new in 2005 and only had it for a year and a half before she died. Her daughter went down to Florida to take care of her affairs and brought the car home with her. She then sold it to Melvin Motors who then sold it to me. The mileage was only 15,125 and I also got a CarFax report from the salesman so I know the story is true. Happy for me but sad for the daughter.
That's my little Mazda in the background - I'm going to give it to my nephew Travis. Bobby already has Vince's Subaru. I can't believe how fast time goes by - it seems like yesterday they were teeny little boys watching cartoons and pretending they were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers.

Family room afghan #2

I've crocheted another family room afghan - the colors are turquoise, medium brown and dark brown. That's it for this room - I really have trouble crocheting with dark colors - hard to see.

Chenille purse

Pink camo granny rectangle afghan

I've started working on a pink camo granny rectangle afghan for myself. It's worked with Bernat's pink camo and RHSS baby pink. The colors aren't a perfect match but it's close enough. I know I should be working on other things but since I'm almost done with Teri's round ripple I figured it wouldn't hurt to start another afghan.

Nothing special

Haven't posted in a while - nothing special going on. Same old - same old. For Christmas, I have been crocheting another round ripple afghan for one of my sisters but I can't show it here - she might see it. I'm using bold pretty colors from my stash of discontined Red Heart Jeweltones so I hope she likes it. I'm also crocheting a set of petal placemats for my Mom - can't show those either.

Summer school: 2 weeks done, 3 weeks to go. It's such a pain in my ***. Takes an hour to drive there and back and then of course another hour at 12:00 noon. My car does not have air conditioning so I am suffering at the noon time drive.

Vince and Bobby are at the campground now. I, of course, am home with Tex and Ladybug. Here's a picture of them playing in the yard. I'm also posting some pictures of flowers that are in our yard just because.

Like I said - same old, same old.

I've finished a granny afghan for my niece Krystal. Actually it's for her baby girl. I alternated 2 rounds of RHSS aran with 2 rounds of a different variation of pinks.

living room valances

Vince and I have made some valances for the living room. Vince made the wood boxes and then I covered them with batting and fabric. The colors of the fabric are perfect. Pay no attention to the van outside of my front windows - it's the neighbor's work van and I think I'm about to complain. It's not a very nice view.

Kristal's afghan for her baby

My niece Kristal is having a baby so I have started a round ripple afghan for her. She's been told that she's having a girl so I am using girly colors. I'm also going to be making some hats and other stuff.

I have changed the afghan to just the Bernat Neopolitan and RHSS aran yarns. The TLC essentials rose just didn't look right. I unraveled to the 6th round and then started again. It will be a repeat of 4 rounds neopolitan, 4 rounds aran, 2 rounds neopolitan, 2 rounds, aran.

Here's a picture of the finished afghan. I love working these round ripples - that is, until I get to the last couple of rows. They take forever.

Fun fur afghan update

My fun fur afghan is done. I had to add 5 rounds of pink because I ran out of the dollar store fun fur. I had bought 14 skeins. I crocheted this afghan with 1 strand fun fur and 1 strand baby acrylic yarn.

Family room afghan

I've started a new afghan for my family room. It'll probably take me a couple weeks to complete it - maybe longer if I stop to make something else in between.

Here's a picture of the progress I've made so far.

My afghan is done - the edges curl a little because I added extra points.
